Jessica Simpson’s Weight Loss
Recently former pop-star Jessica Simpson revealed her dramatic post-pregnancy weight loss. To be exact, she lost about 60 pounds in five months.
That’s no easy feat for anyone to accomplish, and especially at age 32. Through a consistent regimen of better eating habits, fitness training, a solid support system, and one secret tip, Jessica has been shedding weight steadily over the last few months.
How Did Jessica Do It?
Four times per week, Jessica works out with celebrity fitness trainer Harley Pasternak. Each session lasts about 45 minutes and includes five phases: cardio warm-up, upper body strength training, lower body strength training, core training, and cardio cool down. Harley helps her “get her soldier on” – regularly working her arms, legs, abs, butt and thighs.
Additionally, Mrs. Simpson recently signed a big contract with Weight Watchers to be their newest spokesperson. Aside from the vested business interest, Weight Watchers PointsPlus program has significantly affected Jessica’s notorious eating habits for the better. For example, her favorite pregnancy craving of mac and cheese is no longer an option, and in place of that could be a flatbread sandwich with egg whites, peppers and fat-free cheddar. Then after a late morning walk, the new mom might snack on fruit. Little changes like these go a long way.
The singer has revealed that lunch now is her biggest meal in order to keep her full through the day. Another of her new favorite plates is spinach salad with 4 ounces of chicken satay and pear. A smoothie is often on tap for the afternoon snack. And for dinner? Jessica seeks out lighter evening meals nowadays, such as 4 ounces of halibut or tilapia (not Chicken of the Sea Tuna) paired with vegetables and the occasional Skinny Cow chocolate truffle bar.
When in a community like Weight Watchers or any other grouping of people all geared towards the same goal (of weight loss in this example), the camaraderie and group dynamic really helps. It makes the feat more enjoyable and attainable when you take into account you’re not alone in the process and all are facing similar struggles.

And lastly, Jessica recently divulged on the “Katie” TV show a secret that has really helped her during this course: standing in front of the mirror naked and forcing herself to look at what stands in front of her. This way, there are no more excuses and no more hiding. It’s just you and the you that everyone else sees. Doesn’t get any realer than that.
Ms. Simpson is still ten pounds shy of pre-baby weight and has stated she doesn’t have a specific weight goal in mind, but considering her current focus and determination, we wouldn’t be surprised if she continues the slimming trend.
